We accept tips fully anonymously. We strip metadata from every file. We do not retain IP addresses on submissions. We do not log identifying browser data on the tip portal. Our staff cannot see your identity unless you choose to share a contact method — and even then, we never publish it.
Verification, not virality.
Every tip enters a research queue. Researchers cross-reference documents against public filings, second sources, and independent records. No story leaves research without two independent corroborations.
Legal review before publication.
Every investigation is reviewed by counsel before it goes live. Subjects of an investigation are contacted for comment with a meaningful window to respond. Their response, if provided, is published verbatim through our Right of Reply system.
Permanent public record.
Every named entity gets an Accountability Profile — a living public record of investigations, statuses, and responses. We don't memory-hole stories. Resolutions and disputes stay attached to the original file.
Show your work.
When we publish, we publish methodology with it. Source documents are made available where doing so does not compromise anyone's safety. Trust is earned by showing the work — not by asking for it.
